What is a Sleep Laboratory?
A sleep laboratory is a diagnostic facility specifically designed to investigate and treat sleep and sleep-related disorders.

What Types of Patients does the Laboratory Investigate?
As a multi-disciplinary set of diagnostic facilities, patients with respiratory and non-respiratory disorders are referred to our facilities for clinical and

diagnostic assessment by our team of medical specialists.

How can I be Assessed by a Sleep Laboratory?
If you think you may have a sleep disorder, consult your doctor. Referrals to this sleep laboratory is by physician referral only. This includes physicians such as your family doctor or other medical specialists. If your doctor suspects you may have a sleep disorder, he/she is required to complete and sign a sleep study requisition form which can be faxed or mailed to the sleep laboratory. Your physician may obtain a referral form from this website or by calling our sleep laboratory. If your doctor refers you to our sleep laboratory for diagnostic assessment, please use the patient information section of this website (select from main menu) to answer any questions that you may have concerning how sleep studies are performed.

Wait Times for Testing?
The Bluewater Sleep Disorder Clinic is able to accomodate sleep studies within 2 to 3 weeks of receiving the referral from your physician.  More importantly, you will be seen by one of our sleep physicians in consultation 2-3 weeks following the completion of your sleep study.
