DESCRIPTION OF OUR SLEEP LABORATORY
The Bluewater Sleep Disorder Clinic uses state-of-the-art medical diagnostic equipment to assist in the accurate diagnosis of sleep and sleep-related disorders
As a multi-disciplinary facility serving both the adult and pediatric community, medical specialists include physicians trained in Internal Medicine (Respirology), Psychiatry (Pediatric), Pediatrics, and Sleep Medicine
Technical staff include Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT), Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRCP/RRT), Registered Nurses (RN)
Situated in modern commercial buildings and consist of reception areas, administrative/monitoring rooms, bedrooms, technical and storage facilities
The design of these facilities ensures that the majority of the medical equipment is physically separated from the patient, providing bedrooms which are quiet and comfortable
Temperature controlled ventilation systems to maximize comfort
Abundant lighting to ensure the safety of patients and staff
Large corridors and wide doors throughout the building and sleep laboratories provide easy access for disabled individuals requiring use of assistive medical devices (i.e. wheelchairs, walkers, etc)
Kitchen facilities are available for patient use
 
BEDROOM DECOR
Each bedroom is tastefully decorated
Additional lighting is provided to provide a more comfortable setting for the patient
Reading material is available in each room
 
WASHROOM FACILITIES
Both male and female washrooms available for sleep patients and staff
Unobtrusive Continuous Monitoring of Patient Using Audio-Visual Systems
The sleep laboratories are equipped with hard-wired audio-visual systems present in all bedrooms which are connected to the main collecting stations in the technical monitoring room
The audio system is operated hands-free from the patients' bedrooms for added convenience
A call button is provided in each room should the patient require immediate assistance
 
SECURITY
A comprehensive security surveillance and alarm system monitors activity 24 hours a day
All main corridors are fully illuminated
